"The Peach Badge of Courage"

This story was first told by Michael Ian Black on episode #110: Good Grief

Synopsis

Note: These summaries are designed to help fans find their favorite stories and may contain spoilers!
Living in LA with his girlfriend, Michael has gotten used to agreeing with plans that he’s not at all enthusiastic about, because he figures that most of the time, they’re not going to happen. So when his two close friends say “Let’s go skydiving!,” Michael agrees, figuring they’ll never go through with it. But his friends immediately find a flight school in the middle of the desert, and sign everyone up for the “accelerated free fall”-style dive, and now Michael’s trapped into proving he’s not a pussy. After a video that explains there’s a decent risk of death, and eight hours of hand-signal practice, Michael goes up in the plane, sits in a state of claustrophobic terror, and makes the dive, pulling the parachute cord and floating to a landing. He feels brave, heroic, accomplished...and then throws up all over himself.
