Dionne Gray moved from her small-village Caribbean island home to Maryland to attend college on scholarship. She was 24, and very sheltered; she was terrified of the demons of sin that would haunt her if she lost her virginity. But then, at the end of her freshman year, she met a guy at a party, started dating him, and did indeed have sex. She obsessively took pregnancy tests, fearing that god would punish her with pregnancy for being a sinner like this.
