Ben does about 400 hits of acid in his freshman and sophomore year of college at NYU. These trips later inspire the movie he wrote, Night at the Museum. Toward the end of his acid days, Ben decides to allow himself to have a bad trip. He has an experience of non-self that opens the way for him to discover who he wants to be.
