Joel was a Christian minister with a wife and kids… and a secret. He had a habit of seeking anonymous sexual encounters with other men in places like parking lots. For a long time, Joel tried to pray the gay away, seeking conversion therapy from other Christian organizations. Then one night, he had a sexual encounter with another man in a parking lot and for the first time, decided to have an actual conversation with the guy afterward. Turns out, they were both Christian ministers with wives and kids. It was like looking in a mirror. Joel finally became disillusioned with the conversion therapy and embraced who he is.
