"Vulnerable Adult"

This story was told by Amy Salloway on episode #631: Brain Matter

Synopsis

Note: These summaries are designed to help fans find their favorite stories and may contain spoilers!
Amy is hired to develop an original musical about traumatic brain injury with the clients of a performing arts center for disabled adults. She begins a friendship with one of the TBI-affected cast members, and soon finds herself having stronger feelings for him, which she knows is strictly forbidden within this staff/client situation. Amy spirals emotionally into the complexity of whether she should feel guilty and ashamed for treading on this taboo, or embrace the belief that people of all abilities deserve to experience and pursue romantic love. Ultimately, her crush simplifies the situation by announcing that he’s started dating someone else.
