Long before Jamie knew what homosexuality was, he and his best friend loved playing dress ups and they worshipped the flamboyant drag queen-esque character of Endora from the TV show Bewitched. But Jamie’s teacher warned him that his best friend was a “sissy” and that he should end the friendship lest he become a sissy too. Jamie did end the friendship, but years later, he went back to his friend to apologize and admit that he was now out of the closet. But his friend was gone.
